Untimely 非时
Poem/Video
2024
Untimely explores embodied politics through spatial disruption and linguistic drift. Through distinctive visual arrangement and staccato letter repetition, the poem weaves a rhythm that embodies both fragmentation and longing for wholeness.
The work's reconfigured weekly sequence reveals how trauma reshapes time perception. The serpentine imagery shifts from Eden's narrative to intimate reflections on pain, peace, and identity. Recurring single-letter sequences challenge normative language while tracing bodily memories.
The reconstruction of clockwork, serpentine, and religious imagery creates a space where regulation and transgression, wounding and healing converse. This fractured writing opens new expressive possibilities for marginalized subjects, suggesting language as a site where normative and non-normative bodies perpetually dissolve and reconstitute.
