Untimely 非时

Untimely unfolds as a fractured choreography of language and image. Through displaced typography, letter repetition, and ritual pacing, the work draws bodies into a state suspended between fragmentation and the desire for coherence. Trauma bends time: seconds ripple, meaning stutters, chronology folds back on itself.

Images of Times Square—upside down, yellowed, stained, warped by water—return like corrupted memories. The image no longer records; it pulses. What once stood for hyper-visibility becomes a haunted terrain, flickering in reverse. Light does not reveal. It decays.

Serpentine figures move through text and image as signs of recurrence, poison, and escape. Letters—p p p, w w w, b b b—repeat as wounds, rhythms, refrains. Religious and mechanical symbols—clocks, halos, snake skins—collapse into one another, forming a charged field where pain and calm briefly touch.

Within this non-time, Untimely opens a space in which language and body dissolve and reassemble. It gestures toward a poetics of survival—not through clarity, but through sustained distortion.
