Untimely 非时

Untimely
unfolds in a fractured choreography of language and vision. Through dislocated typography, letter repetition, and ritualistic pacing, the work evokes bodies caught between fragmentation and the longing for coherence. Trauma bends time—seconds ripple, meanings stutter, and chronology loops back on itself.

Visuals of Times Square—upside-down, yellowed, stained, water-warped—recur like corrupted memories. The image does not document, but pulsates. What once symbolized hyper-visibility now becomes a haunted landscape, flickering in reverse. Light doesn’t illuminate, it decays.

Serpentine motifs slither through text and image: a figure of recurrence, poison, and escape. Letters—p p p, w w w, b b b—repeat as wounds, rhythms, and refrains. Religious and mechanical symbols—clocks, halos, snake skins—collapse into one another, forming a field of tension where pain and peace touch.

In this non-time, Untimely opens a space where language and body dissolve and reassemble. It gestures toward a poetics of survival—not as clarity, but as persistent distortion.
